Extending a Hand to the Chinese

Obama is doing the right thing, meeting with the Chinese and treating them with respect as a rising world power.  What fruit it will produce is unknown and unknowable, but it sure can't hurt.  Unless you think treating someone respectfully is a form of appeasement, of course, which is the neo-con and Republican way (with some notable exceptions like Richard Lugar) of thinking.
