Joe the Plumber is not actually a plumber (doesn't have a plumber's license, which I guess you need), but he definitely got his '15 minutes of fame'. And he represents millions of men and women who work hard, think America is the greatest country in the world, try to raise families, want low taxes, and want a safe America and world.
Many of these Americans seem to think that this would indicate a vote for McCain. But Obama represents everything that they want too, if they could only see through the hype and negative ads. Barack Obama works hard, loves America, is the faithful husband of one wife with two children, likes low taxes (who wants to pay higher taxes?), and definitely wants a safe and peaceful nation and world.
I think both candidates believe in all of these things, but the question is, which one has the right policies to achieve these goals? I happen to believe it is Obama, who represents a fairly drastic change from the policies of not only the past 8 years but the past 30 years.
If you liked the last 8 years, vote for McCain, because his foreign and domestic policies are clearly extensions of those currently in charge. But if you think we've been going in the wrong direction the last 8 years, then Obama is your guy.
