My hope is that with Obama getting to know the leaders of Europe, Russia, and China on a more personal basis, he might begin to see the reasonable nature of cleaning up our banking system and instituting proper regulations, as well as taking a more nuanced view of Afghanistan than what he might get from our military and foreign policy establishment.
Or are our banking system and our military the only things we've got going for us?
