Debate Favors Palin

There is generally agreement that the debate format tonight favors Palin, primarily because of its short-answers and lack of follow-ups. Also, Biden cannot easily go after her, for fear of looking condescending or mean or sexist, so she's fairly free to take jabs at both Obama and Biden that could put them on the defensive. He's got a tough assignment. I think she'll do okay and probably gain the ticket several points in the polls. But the question remains: is she truly prepared to become President at any time. Tonight will not provide us the answer.

I still agree with Andrew Sullivan: "Since she was selected, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has held more press conferences with American reporters than she has. Forget all this debate spin or pre-spin. Just give her a microphone, a roomful of inquisitive reporters and be done with it."
