I'm listening to the Friday News Roundup on the Diane Rehm Show, and they're talking about Afghanistan. Diane raises the sensitive question, "How long are we going to be there?", and the foreign correspondents start coughing and stuttering, and finally get it out that the commitment seems to be for five or ten years.
Five or ten years. And that's if everything goes according to plan. Which it won't. And we will still be in Iraq as well. Mark my words.
This is much worse than Clinton's adventure in the Balkans and it could be as bad as Bush's Iraq, or even worse, much worse.
This is folly. Folly. Folly.
